John Melvin is a seasoned insurance executive with over 20 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance regulation, and client consultation. As a Director of Employee Benefits at Lexington Insurance Agency, John works closely with businesses to design and manage group health plans that meet their financial objectives and compliance requirements. His expertise includes benefits strategy, carrier negotiations, compliance guidance, and wellness program integration.
Before joining Lexington Insurance Agency, John served as Director of Insurance Product Regulation at the Kentucky Department of Insurance, where he led statewide regulatory efforts for Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance products. His career also includes leadership and advisory roles at Foundation Risk Partners, Epic Insurance Solutions, Premier Financial Group, and several technology and AV integration firms.
John is a licensed Life & Health Agent and a former President of the Central Kentucky Association of Health Underwriters (CKAHU). Known for his integrity, reliability, and client-first mindset, he brings both strategic insight and personal dedication to every client relationship.
Outside of work, John enjoys golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
